Monalisa initiative in France: new Charter and association to fight against older people’s isolation

Monalisa, initiated by the French Minister in charge of older people and independent living, Michèle Delaunay, is a network aimed to bring together volunteers, non-profit associations and public institutions to fight older people’s isolation and mobilized them at national level using existing structures. About 40 French organisations have signed the Charter of the Monalisa association, which states the common values and principles of the network. First Charter signatories already represent over 200.000 volunteers and will seek to cover the whole country by end 2014.
