Ilenia Gheno
Project Manager
Ilenia oversees the overall coordination of AGE European Projects, from the use of the financial resources to the contractual issues and implementation. She manages the personnel budgets of the over 10 European projects AGE is involved in and plans the use of staff resources in the mid and long-term. She works directly on European projects related to universal design, health and ehealth, accessibility, new technologies, rooting for a genuine involvement of older adults in projects and monitoring the ethical implications in research. She is moreover active in disseminating the projects’ results, with the goal to bring scientific evidence to European policy makers and stakeholders.
Ilenia joined AGE in 2009. She holds a master degree in European policies (University of Padova), an Inter-university certificate in Ethics and Care (Universities of Louvain and Namur), a certificate on Healthy Ageing for Impact in the 21st century (WHO) and attended a post-university Master of Science in Management (Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Solvay Business School). Before joining AGE, she worked for private and public entities, implementing a wealth of European projects dealing with territorial cooperation, youth volunteering and corporate social responsibility. She volunteered for youth and adult empowerment and education in Italy and Belgium.
