AFE-INNOVNET, the European Thematic network on innovation for age-friendly environments which AGE has been coordinating since February 2014, is making great steps forward to mobilise a large community of local and regional authorities, and other stakeholders, committed to making the EU more age-friendly. The network is open to all interested parties, who will then be able to bring their contributions and have access to the network’s activities and materials.
A growing community
More than 110 organisations, public authorities, businesses, universities and research centres have already joined AFE-INNOVNET network. They play a great role to draft effective guidance and tools to measure the socio-economic impact of age-friendly initiatives, better engage end users, and to help us design the future EU Covenant on demographic change. To facilitate this cooperation, we have launched this summer the private part of AFE-INNOVNET website where all members can contribute to the work.

AFE-INNOVNET third webinar, focusing on “Age-Friendly Environments Meet Business: Perfect Match?”, will take place on 22 September, 11.00 CET. The webinar will be the opportunity to give the floor to various speakers of the industrial sector that are working on age-friendly solutions. You may already register here.
The same day, a roundtable on “Promoting large scale deployment of smart ICT solutions that support healthy ageing through age-friendly environments” will take place at the EU Marketplace for eHealth & EIP on Active and Healthy Ageing organised as part of the Growing the Silver Economy in Europe.
Last but not least, AFE-INNOVNET partners will participate in a second workshop to take place on 2-3 October in Flanders around the issue of dementia-friendly communities.

- A repository of innovative and evidence-based solutions;
