In the end of 2013 we created the blog ‘Towards an Age-friendly European Parliament’ to support our campaign prior to the European Parliament (EP) elections in 2014. This blog proved to be a useful interactive tool to discuss and share information on issues of concern for older persons in Europe. We have therefore decided to keep using it to report back on EP activities of relevance for older persons’ rights.
To that end a new section entitled “Parliamentary watch on older persons’ rights” has been created, which will present all EP reports mentioning issues related to older persons’ rights. Three articles – on two reports on gender equality, on the annual growth survey and on the employment guidelines – are already available.
