“Human rights in old age – what is it to me?” – Join BAGSO international event on 25 November

AGE member in Germany, BAGSO, is organising an international event on the human rights in older age on 25th November as part of the 13th German Senior Citizens’ Day in Hanover (Germany). The event can be followed online (via Zoom) and simultaneous interpretation (English/German) will be provided.

GermanSeniorDay2021-BAGSO-image What is the importance of human rights in everyday life, especially for older people? How can older people be given access to their rights? How can the human rights of older people be better protected worldwide? These and other questions will be addressed by experts from Germany and abroad in three panels:

  • The first panel is about a basic understanding of human rights – from theory to practical experiences from different countries;
  • The second panel focuses on Europe and gives participants the opportunity to get to know projects and initiatives that help older people with legal issues;
  • The third panel will examine what can be done at the international level to strengthen the protection of the human rights of older people worldwide.

AGE Secretary-General, Maciej Kucharczyk, will be among the speakers of the second panel to discuss how to strengthen human rights in old age.
