Age UK publishes ‘Care in Crisis 2014’ report

This report examines the funding crisis the UK is currently facing in its social care system and uncovers dramatically declining figures in public funding for older people's social care in the UK (15.4% since 2010). The situation is likely to get worse unless substancial investment in that field is made.

“The figures we have uncovered in this report are catastrophic. Older people who need help and are now not getting it are being placed at significant risk and families who care for loved ones are experiencing intolerable strain”, states Caroline Abrahams, director of Age UK.
