Anziani e Non Solo runs projects to foster digital inclusion and support migrants willing to work in elderly care

Anziani e Non Solo-logoAGE Italian member Anziani e Non Solo is running two European projects projects: UISEL to facilitate e-accessibility and e-inclusion among older people and the MNGLE to improve the social and economic integration of migrants wishing to work in the sector of elderly care and tourism.

UISEL – UBIQUITOUS INFORMATION FOR SENIORS LIFE

UISEL is an EU project that aims to support senior citizens to access on-line services related to E-E-government, E-communication, E-interaction and E-entertainment using mobile technology in order to avoid social exclusion and to improve their quality of life. This aim will be achieved through the elaboration of two training courses on the above mentioned topics: one course will be addressed to adult’s trainers and the other one to over 50 people who need to improve their ICT skills.

The project started in December 2013 and will last for 2 years. It involves seven different organizations working in the field of ICT, adults training, active ageing promotion, coming from seven different EU Countries and cooperating together to find a solution to one of the most important challenges launched by the combination between the ageing phenomenon and the ICT revolution: the digital divide of senior citizens.

MINGLE – MIGRANT LANGUAGE AND SOCIAL INTEGRATION

In the last two years, an important European project has been implemented in order to promote social and economic integration of migrants from Rumania and Bulgaria willing to work in the elderly care and tourism sector respectively in Italy and in Greece and in Cyprus. The project titled MINGLE –Migrant language and developed in the framework of the GRUDTVIG Programme, has been elaborating two Italian language courses and two Greek language courses easy to access, vocationally oriented with the support of a Distance Learning Application (DLA).

The four project partners: Exus, Anziani e non solo soc.coop., CNTI and KMOP have firstly carried out a field research in their countries in order to collect the specific language needs of the target group. Once the DLA had been developed, they tested the main training modules on end-users. At the moment In Italy and in Greece migrant people wishing to work in the two professional sectors are involved in the final testing with very positive results.
