PVO lobbies Austrian government for a law against age discrimination in granting credit

PVÖ-logo AGE Austrian member organisation, PVÖ has recently addressed a letter to the Austrian Minister of Justice urging to accelerate the implementation of a new law against age discrimination in the granting of loans. PVÖ is also exerting pressure via the media.

The Pensioners’ Association has been calling for such a regulation for years and does not understand why it is not implemented, while a broad consensus among the Ministry of Justice, bank representatives, consumer protectors and the Pensioners’ Association was reached last spring.

PVÖ calls for this law to enter into force this year, adding that a similar regulation has been successfully implemented in Germany for years.
