Together with a large number of EU and national organisations, AGE has joined ENAR’s call for the establishment of a strong Intergroup at the European Parliament on the fight against racism and related discrimination, including multi-layered discrimination.
The intergroup will provide an informal platform for MEPs of different political groups and different committees to step up efforts to mainstream racial equality and anti-racism in EU policy and legislation, monitor the situation of groups at greater risk of racial discrimination and propose measures to Member States, and consult and liaise with civil society organisations and representatives of ethnic, racial and religious minorities.
