AGE participates in kick-off meeting of the 2nd mature@eu project

AGE participated in the first meeting of the 2nd mature@eu project on 17 October 2008. The aim of this meeting was to introduce the learning goals of this project as defined in the earlier mature@eu project, to examine the scientific parameters of the materials presented in the toolbox and the variety of these materials, and to consider copyright issues.

The issues which this project is concerned with include tackling prejudice against older worker participation in the labour market, the establishment of an evidence base on the re-direction of recruitment policies, overcoming age barriers to employment i.e. in written job advertisements, in the creation of job application forms and in the selection and interviewing of candidates, and the presentation of age diverse employers to external stakeholders.

This project, which runs for 18 months, follows on from the earlier project and builds on its success. AGE will play a particularly active role in the dissemination of this project’s developments and findings.
