Call for Alzheimer Europe conference abstracts

The 24th Alzheimer Europe Conference will be held in Glasgow, Scotland (UK) on 20-22 October 2014 under the theme “Dignity and autonomy in dementia”. The conference will explore how recognising the human rights of people with dementia, their carers, partners and families is key to ensuring dignity and respect, as well as overcoming stigma.

Prior to the event, Alzheimer Europe and Alzheimer Scotland are calling for abstracts until 30 April 2014 in the following categories:

  • Care: Home care, Hospital care, Palliative care, Residential care
  • People: Dementia-friendly communities, Involving people with dementia, Peer support groups, Perceptions and image of dementia
  • Policy: Dementia strategies, Post-diagnostic support, Prevention, Socio-economic cost of dementia and financing of care
  • Rights: Consent and advance directives, Ethics, Proxy decision-making, Rights and responsibilities of people with dementia
