A key focus is the persistent gender inequalities in households and the labour market, which are inextricably linked with care work.

On the basis of this report, ILO highlights inadequate policy responses to the rising demand and the higher extent of the care burden on women. In a press statement, ILO urges for doubling the investment in the care economy in order to avert a looming global care crisis.
