European Accessibility Act published!

older man stepping into a bus smallOn 2nd December, the day before the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the European Commission published the European Accessibility Act, which sets common accessibility requirements for certain key products and services.

AGE warmly welcomes the launch of the long-awaited Act, which is expected to improve accessibility to goods and services across the European Union. This is a key instrument for older people’s equal participation in society and we will follow closely the negotiation process to ensure that it reflects the accessibility needs of the ageing population.
