Resulting from two EU-funded projects (IMPACT and EUROIMPACT), the European declaration on palliative care will be officially presented at the policy conference ‘Towards integration of palliative care in an age-friendly EU’ which will take place in Brussels on 15 October 2014.
On that occasion, key stakeholders will have the opportunity to debate on the issue of palliative and long-term care in Europe and the development of evidence-based policy and practice.
The delivery of high quality long-term care for people with life-limiting illnesses is a major EU policy challenge and is also recognized within the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing. Those care should be person-centred and focused on the quality of life. The results of two large EU-funded projects wil be presented during this conference aimed to inform policy and decision-makers about the latest research regarding the importance and added value of palliative care in an age-friendly European Union. Presentations are provided by key researchers from the Europran Union and the United States.
