Our fourth Annual Conference will take place on 18 November 2016 in Brussels, the day after our General Assembly. Open to external stakeholders, the event will be the opportunity to discuss among our member-organisations, policy-makers and external guests how the EU should address age discrimination, while strengthening both economic and social rights of older people in order to empower them as equal citizens.
Together with academics, industry and EU representatives, we will explore the remaining challenges in relation to the on-going review of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing (MIPAA):
How have the EU and Member States so far contributed to the MIPAA objectives? What are the priorities for its further implementation in the future? What are the possible links between this UN instrument and EU instruments and initiatives impacting the lives of older people?
Finally, AGE member organisations will present some practical examples of creating the implementation of age-friendly environments at the grassroots level.
We kindly invite business representatives to join the conference to meet, exchange and present their goods and services which reinforce the quality of life of older people, enhance their healthy ageing, and facilitate active participation in society.
A dedicated exhibition area at the conference’s venue will allow you present your activities and engage in direct contact with national and local leaders of older people across the EU.
