The AccessibleEU European Accessibility Resource Centre invites you to a workshop on accessibility in urban transport within the framework of the UITP Summit held in Barcelona, Spain, entitled “AccessibleEU: Building Inclusion at Public Transport“. The event will take place in a hybrid format in English: at the stand shared by RENFE, TMB and FGC, as well as online.
In this workshop, the tools and knowledge necessary to comply with the fundamental principles of Design for All included in the European Regulations will be shared with the different actors in urban transport, thus allowing operators, public administrators and transport manufacturers to work on more accessible transport for all citizens.
There will be two technical panels:
- One entitled “How to Implement Accessibility in Public Transport”, where measures that must be adopted to guarantee the inclusion of people with disabilities and the elderly in public transport will be shared, from the technical point of view and of municipal management, with examples of benchmark cities in the field of accessible public transport.
- A second one entitled “Learning from Operators and Manufacturers”, inspiring experiences and projects related to accessibility management in the operation of transport fleets (both in rail transport and in bus transport) will be presented, as well as in the field of rolling stock manufacturers.
