Held by the Civil Society Organisations’ Group of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), this conference will bring together around 140 participants, including civil society organisations at the European and national levels.
The discussions will cover three topics:
- The expectations of European citizens vis-à-vis the socio-economic and political challenges facing the EU;
- The EU we want: a democratic and inclusive EU of social justice and protection;
- The EU we want: a sustainable economy based on fair green and digital transitions and quality jobs.
The written conclusions and recommendations of the conference will feed into EESC policy recommendations to the new European Parliament and European Commission, to be adopted in July.
The conference is open to the public in person or from remote. There will be simultaneous interpreting in a number of EU languages.
- Registration (required) until 11 April 2024.

AGE Secretary General, Maciej Kucharczyk, will be part of the panel on ‘a democratic and inclusive EU of social justice and protection’.
