Led by Generations Working Together, the Global Intergenerational Week aims to support the growth of intergenerational practices around the world in raising awareness of their value and creating opportunities for knowledge exchange. It involves 15 countries and covers a range of issues including ageism, loneliness and isolation, intergenerational places and space, intergenerational workplaces, partnerships.
Intergenerational practices are essential, not just ‘nice to have’
Intergenerational exchanges are critical for combatting ageism and social isolation. One of the main message of the Week is that a swift in narrative is needed from intergenerational practices being regarded as something “nice” to seeing them as essential to our lives, which should be integrated in areas of daily life such as education, urban planning development, etc.

Each day of Global Intergenerational Week will focus on a different theme:
