How to combat ageism: promoting a rights-based approach to ageing – Fundamental Rights Forum 2021

Embracing a rights-based approach to ageing in the workplace requires combating age discrimination at work, countering negative stereotypes and ageist attitudes and ensuring genuine participation of older people as equal partners. Organised as part of the Fundamental Rights Forum 2021, this online webinar will focus on the role of a life-course approach to ageing and of intergenerational solidarity as ways of successfully combating ageism at work, reflecting priorities of the Slovenian Presidency in this area. Building on the findings of the Study on Ageing and Talent Management in Public Administration, the Slovenian Presidency will present trends and recommendations on inclusive ageing at the workplace for Member States and thus address ageism at work. Further and additional approaches of addressing ageism at work and fostering intergenerational learning will be presented by AGE Platform Europe and the national Federation of Slovenian Pensioner’s Association (ZDUS). Relevant promising and transferable practices identified in Norway Grants’ funded projects will also be showcased.

Our colleague Philippe Seidel, will be part of the debate.
