Coordinated by the Belgian organisation Entr’âges, in partnership with the in French-speaking Belgian provinces, the Intergeneration Week was born from the “Carrefours des Générations” project launched 10 years ago to promote intergenerational solidarity and support local initiatives. After ten editions rich in projects and partnerships, Entr’âges decided to extend the event over a week and open it to any non-commercial organisation.

Promoting exchanges and intergenerational transmission and reflecting together on ageing and how to develop a more cohesive society is what the intergenerational approach aims to achieve, by encouraging reciprocal and lasting relationships between generations, by stimulating solidarity at the local level, in neighbourhoods and in community life.

This week is an opportunity for many organizations to open their doors to all in order to encourage exchanges and collective reflection on intergeneration.
