10 years after the first European Day of Solidarity between Generations (29 April 2009), the event will explore the concept of solidarity and cooperation between generations, for a fairer and sustainable labour market. Discussions will focus on the situation of ageing workers and the preconditions for them to stay active in the new world of work.
The conference will showcase several good practices from EU countries and feature speakers from the organised civil society, European Commission and the EESC. All the discussions will feed into an opinion that is currently being prepared by the EESC at the request of the incoming Finnish Presidency, on “Changing world of work and ageing workers”.
