Organised during the Civil Society Days 2022 by the Social Platform, Social Services Europe and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), this workshop will examine the policies needed to strengthen welfare states after COVID‑19 and cope with ageing societies, new forms of employment and the digital and green transitions. Civil society organisations and social service providers will discuss and put forward their key proposals on welfare state reforms and social protection for resilient social safety nets. Recommendations will inform the work of the High-Level Group on the Future of Social Protection and of the Welfare State in the EU, as well as the work of the European Commission on the Council recommendation on an adequate minimum income and access to affordable quality social services with a view to a European Care Strategy.
