The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) is organizing, in cooperation with the Italian government, a Ministerial Conference on Ageing to complete the fourth review and appraisal cycle (2018-2022) of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing (MIPAA) and its Regional Implementation Strategy. The event will also mark the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the MIPAA.
The theme of the Conference is “Joining forces for solidarity and equal opportunities throughout life”. Conference panels will address this theme through the lens of:
- Promoting active and healthy ageing throughout life
- Ensuring access to long-term care and support for carers and families
- Mainstreaming ageing to advance a society for all ages
A joint Forum of Civil Society and Scientific Research will precede the Ministerial Conference on 15 June 2022.
AGE and our members are participating in the conference as well as in the Joint Forum. We have addressed a letter to ministers and shared a report with the assessment of the five years since the last Ministerial Conference.
