This seminar, co-organised by CEPS and AGE, will seek to raise awareness of issues faced by older workers and explore how policies could effectively respond to the challenges of their continuous inclusion in the labour market.
The event will include two presentations: the first one will address the current development of policy and proposals on improving work-life balance for older workers, and the second one will focus on the concepts of defamilisation, familisation and adult worker models.
Together with a Dr Ruby Chau, visiting scholar in CEPS, and Philippe Seidel, AGE Policy and EP Liaison Officer, we will explore lessons from research on older female workers and national care models in the EU and Asian states (Germany, France, Hungary, Sweden, UK, Hong Kong and South Korea). We will try to link these experiences to the current policy debate in the EU on work-life balance for older workers, long-term care and the financial implications of population ageing.
The seminar will be held on 3 July, 12h30-14h30 at CEPS, Place du Congrès 1, 1000 Brussels.
