From Plato to Aristotle: enjoy or suffer longevity?

Our Spanish member FATEC is collaborating with the Foundation Ernest Lluch, Foundation La Caixa, Club of Rome and the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona in organising a series of debates on longevity.

From February to October 2024, the cycle of session entitled ‘From Plato to Aristotle: enjoy or suffer longevity?’ will take place at the prestigious Palau Macaya in Barcelona. Contrasting Plato’s positive perception of ageing with Aristotle’s vision of old age as a stage of weakness, this initiative will host several speakers to address empirical and theoretical aspects of our demographic future and what it means for governance models and individual ageing.

Our colleague Nena Georgantzi, Human Rights Manager, will give the closing speech of the cycle on October 21st focusing on ageism and human rights.
