Monalisa initiative in France: new Charter and association to fight against older people’s isolation

Monalisa FR logo Initiated in 2012 by the French Minister in charge of older people and independent living, Michèle Delaunay, with the support of AGE member organisation Les Petits Frères des Pauvres, Monalisa is a network aimed to bring together volunteers, non-profit associations and public institutions to fight older people’s isolation and mobilized them at national level using existing structures.

MONALISA, support the cooperation between public authorities and citizens to reduce social isolation, e.g. in pooling resources to co-create innovative tools and practices, such as the basic training of volunteers or a resource centre for sharing good practices.

In 2019 more than 500 French organisations had signed the Charter of the Monalisa association, which states the common values and principles of the network.
