The FallWatch Consortium has developed a tiny triangular patch called Vigi’Fall that can be worn by the user in a non-intrusive, permanent manner. The patch interact with sensors placed throughout the living area and a central control box to detect any serious fall and timely inform emergency medical team. The next phase of the project will be to integrate heartbeat monitoring in the system (FallWatch DEMO). The FallWatch/FallWatch DEMO projects have received combined funding of almost €2 million from the European Commission.
