This new edition of Health at a Glance: Europe contains two main new features:
- two thematic chapters at the beginning of the publication analyse in more depth the links between population health and labour market outcomes, and the need in all EU countries to strengthen primary care systems; and
- a new chapter at the end of the publication on the resilience, efficiency and sustainability of health systems.

The report shows that the increasing life expectancy (now exceeding 80 years in most EU countries) is not always matched by healthy life years and that health systems need to be more accessible and more resilient.
