Invented by two former physical education and sports teachers, the ‘humanitude’ concept suggests a different approach to care for vulnerable groups that aims to restore their dignity and improve relations between patients and carers.
A label has been created to recognize collective living spaces that respect this approach, places where one can feel at home, receive personalized care and remains part of society. The Humanitude Label is awarded for 5 years to establishments and services that meet the following 5 criteria:
- no force treatment
- respect for individuality and privacy
- fostering the standing position
- attractive and supportive living environment
- a place open to the outside world
