On the occasion of the European Day for People with Disabilities, Milan (Italy) was announced as the winner of the 2016 Access City Award, recognizing in particular the city’s effort to support the employment and independent living of people with disabilities.
Wiesbaden (Germany) and Toulouse (France) respectively ranked as second and third. Vaasa (Finland) and Kaposvár (Hungary) were also awarded for their efforts to improve accessibility for people with disabilities and older people with impairments.
