The Spanish Institute of Elderly and Social Services IMSERSO (Instituto de Mayores y Servicios Sociales) has produced a policy framework for older people with the aim of collecting, in a single text, the main priorities that will guide the present and future public policies towards older people aimed to promote active ageing and as well as those developed by institutions, associations of older people and older people themselves.
Imserso is the Social Security Administration Body responsible for handling Social Services supplementing Social Security System provisions and which deals with older persons and dependent people in Spain.

As a member of the State Council of the Elderly, collegiate advisory body of the Central Government under the Ministry of Social Affairs and Equality Services, through the Ministry of Social Services and Equality, AGE Catalonian organisation FATEC has indirectly contributed to the correction and amendments of this document.
