AGE Europe welcomes EU Council conclusions on older people in digital age

15/10/2020 (Agence Europe)AGE Platform Europe and BAGSO, the German national association of older people’s organisations, welcomed on Tuesday 13 October the adoption of conclusions looking at older people in the age of digitalisation ahead of the informal meeting ‘Employment and Social Policies’ (EPSCO), as well as the proof of ‘leadership’ shown by Member States on the subject (see EUROPE B12570A34). Both organisations are calling for a focus on human rights when developing national exit strategies from the Covid-19 pandemic and, in writing the Green paper on ageing, horizontally integrating the issue of ageing into European policies and involving older people in the decision-making processes for initiatives that directly affect their lives.
