AGE Contribution to the consultation on the revised TSI on Accessibility to Persons with Reduced Mobility

24 Janvier 2013

End October 2012, the European Railway Agency released the Preliminary draft version 1.0 of revised TSI on Accessibility to Persons with Reduced Mobility covering the Union railway system (conventional and high speed rail system, with extension to the non-TEN system) for consultation. Even if AGE Platform Europe is represented in the working party mandated to undertake the TSI revision, we decided to take the opportunity to outline some concerns in relation to the content of this version 1.0.

It is mainly focused on the definition of Persons with Reduced Mobility, the training of staff, the issue of resting areas, on lighting and on visual information.

This paper has been drafted thanks to the input of our two representatives at the ERA, Peter Rayner and Frans Moltzer.
