Campaign for more inclusive education and training
Until the end of the year, the Lifelong Learning Platform (LLLP) is running a campaign that promotes education as a human right and a public common good aiming at inclusion rather than profitability. It calls for more public investment in inclusive education, training and lifelong learning opportunities that guarantee fair access by everyone.
We support the campaign, as older people are often forgotten in policies fostering lifelong learning, which mainly targets employability and younger workers. Explicit or implicit age barriers hinder the participation of people who are in later working life or above statutory pension age. Yet, in our fast-changing world lifelong education and training is more than ever a must for inclusion and participations in society at all stages of life.
