Co-creating age-friendly digital public services - Joint EP Intergroup meeting
In Europe, communication and services are growing digital, and the same is true for public services. Yet, older persons are often excluded from the development of online public services, which often leads to those services being inadequate and not easily accessible for older adults, and in the end not used by everyone as they should be. Developing ways of helping senior citizens access public online services in their community and involving them in the development of those services was the objective of the EU-funded Mobile-Age project.
The result of the project was presented and debated at the event ‘The future of Europe is co-created - Digital public services for age-friendly cities and communities’, hosted on 29th January 2019 by the European Parliament Intergroup on Active Ageing, Intergenerational Solidarity and Family issues, and the URBAN Intergroup. The meeting offered tools and insights paving the way to European strategies putting citizens’ needs on the agenda of European policies.
As part of Mobile-Age consortium, AGE Platform Europe was actively involved in the project and organized the event.
