Commission proposes measures for more accessible and sustainable public health

In its communication realeased on 4 April 2014, the European Commission proposes initiatives to support national action to improve the accessibility, effectiveness and sustainability of public health systems, also in times of economic crisis, and in line with the reform recommendations addressed to them in the context of the European Semester.

Measures suggested include integrated approach to care, better planning of work force, more efficient use of medicines and the use of innovative solutions and new technologies for more effective treatment.
