Conference and Charter pledge to end disease-related malnutrition

ENHA logoAt a two-day conference organised by the European Nutrition for Health Alliance (ENHA) in Brussels on 4-5 November, around 80 multi-disciplinary top experts from across eight European countries signed a Charter for Optimal Nutritional Care to commit to end disease-related malnutrition and provide optimal nutritional care for patients in all healthcare settings, including hospitals, care homes and in home care.

The Charter ‘Optimal Nutritional Care for All’ calls for identification of those at nutritional risk through screening and appropriate nutritional intervention and monitoring, making nutritional care an integral part of patient care.

The European Nutrition for Health Alliance has issued this press release which reports on the conference and seeks to raise awareness of the urgency to tackle disease-related malnutrition and its considerable financial impact on European healthcare systems.
