A two-day high-level expert conference was organised by the European Commission (DG EMPL) in Brussels on 18-19 September to discuss the state of play and the way forward in the area of labour economics.

The conference brought together theoreticians, experts, analysts, advisers, and policy makers to discuss what needs to be learned and discussed in the area of labour economics and how academic experts and advisers can continue to help the European Union in designing and implementing the right policies in the area of employment.
