Official resources on COVID-19 vaccination
As part of European Union’s joint action against COVID-19, a EU-wide vaccination process started end of December. The responsibility of the Union is to ensure the provision of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines in all EU countries. Vaccines are authorised after an evaluation by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and consultation with the EU Member States.
A number of resources on the vaccination in Europe is available on the website of the:
European Commission:
- Webpage on vaccination and the actions taken by the European Commission to support Member States
- COVID-19 vaccines portal
- A list of official national vaccination websites for each EU country is available here.

A dedicated team is working on information materials, tools and trainings to support civil society, including a webpage with all the existing and upcoming country readiness and delivery resources (i.e. one-pagers, articles, briefs, and frequently asked questions), guidance documents such as the Guidance on developing a national deployment and vaccination plan for COVID-19 vaccines.
A range of COVID-19 vaccine introduction training packages are also available on OpenWHO and include e-learning modules, slide decks, and job aides. Two courses have recently been released:
- COVID-19 vaccination training for health workers provides information that health workers need to know to conduct COVID-19 vaccination.
- Orientation to national deployment and vaccination planning for COVID-19 vaccines provides orientation for national deployment and vaccination planning for COVID-19 vaccines.
