PVÖ marks Equal Pension Day in Austria

PVÖ-logo Similar to Equal Pay Day, AGE member Pensionistenverband Österreich marked ‘Equal Pension Day’ on 15 July, corresponding to the difference of pension income between women and men in the country. This is the occasion for PVÖ to highlight their demands for a more equal public pension model.

More specifically, PVÖ calls for disregarding the 10 years with the lowest labour income from calculation of pension corresponding to the years during which most women reduce income and employment to care for children or family members in need for care. On top of this, PVÖ calls for granting credits equivalent to 4 years of employment for each child.
