Seniors in the spotlight for one week in France

Générations-Mouvement-logo Our French member, Générations Mouvement, co-organized from 5 to 11 October 2020 the Semaine Bleue (‘Blue Week’) that aims promotes the place of older persons in society and their important contribution, as well as their concerns and the challenges they experience on a daily basis. This event is also an opportunity for volunteers from associations and professionals who work every day to support and improve the lives of older and retired people to showcase their work, achievements and projects.

The theme of the 2020 – 2021 edition focuses on older persons’ wellbeing after COVID-19. A very important topic covered by the ‘Blue Week’ is home care, as living at home, in one’s own community, has been identified as a determining factors to living and ageing well.

For more than twenty years, the National Federation has been part of the Semaine Bleue’s Committee.
