The Robert Koch Institute, Germany’s central scientific institution in the field of biomedicine, has launched an appeal to young persons to take care of themselves and older persons against the coronavirus. Worried about many young people’s attitude, the Robert Koch Institute wants to warn them that although older persons and those with fundamental health problems are in particular at risk, “even if it rarely happens, younger and healthy people can also experience serious developments, even including fatalities.” Therefore everyone must take the situation seriously and protect themselves and others. The RKI adds that “younger people should naturally also show solidarity with the elderly, who are at a higher risk.“
