ZDUS workshops examined action plans to implement Slovenia Active Ageing Strategy

ActiveAgeingStrategy_Slovenia_2018-cover-small In July 2017 the Slovenian Government adopted its Active Ageing Strategy, which defines guidelines in areas that are strongly impacted by demographic changes, with a special emphasis on older people.

Following this, the government instructed all stakeholders to draft concrete action plans to implement the strategy. A Council for Active Ageing and Intergenerational Cooperation was appointed to coordinate the preparation of action plans, which will determine the tasks, responsible parties and deadlines for the implementation of the most important issues at national, regional and local levels.

ZDUS_logo ZDUS, AGE Slovenian member organisation, organised 6 workshops to develop proposals for action on the following topics:

  • Healthy and secure life for all generations
  • Labor market and intergenerational cooperation
  • Education, access to education and training
  • Safe and independent life
  • Ageing in the digital society
  • Creating an active life environment

The results of these workshops are one of the inputs for the Action plans to implement the Active Ageing Strategy, which are being prepared by the Governmental Council for Active Aging and Intergenerational Cooperation and will be submitted to the Government of the Republic of Slovenia probably in September 2019.
