i-PROGNOSIS Newsletter #6: donations are not always about money

With the season’s greetings approaching comes the New Year’s wishes… and gifts! In its December 2017 newsletter, the i-PROGNOSIS project thus invites you to demonstrate your generosity and benevolence with anything other than money: data.

Exploring the potentialities of mobile health for Parkinson’s disease, the project has developed a first prototype of mobile application able to screen for Parkinson’s early signs. To refine the algorithms that look for symptoms, the project needs a high number of users – both persons diagnosed with Parkinson’s and healthy individuals.

For Christmas this year, why not to donate your data?

These will be anonymised and securely stored on a Cloud. They will only be used for the purpose of the research as approved by the national ethical committees in countries where the mobile app is available. To learn more, visit the i-PROGNOSIS website or directly download the application on Google Play.

In the 6th i-PROGNOSIS newsletter, you will also hear from Vassili, advisor to the Co-Federation of Greek Pensioners (AGSSE) and member of AGE Platform Europe. As ambassador of the i-PROGNOSIS project, he shares with you his views on the project that he felt “was a unique, modern way to do medical research”.
